middle of nowhere…and free.
So we’re back to Vegas. I would never be able to forget our second night. After spending the night before at the hospital and shopping during the day, we’ve decided to get the party started at Super 8 before going home on Sunday morning. And I gotta tell you that the whole thing that happened that night was my fault. It was like 1 am. I was in the room with Luisa and the other girls were already sleepy. As many of you might know, sometimes I just can’t help myself. I get hyperactive in the middle of the night and I have to get myself tired to finally get to sleep. I also remember we spent the whole way to Vegas talking about how we were excited about having a jaccuzzi and a pool in our hotel. So during that night of “hyper Aline” that was all I could think of. But it was cold. And as usual, I didn’t care. From our room, we could see it. We looked through the window and no one was in. That’s when we decided we NEEDED it. We wore our bikinis and completely ignored the elevator. We were running on the stairs to get there before anyone could see us. We also took bottles of Heineken and Red Bull with us. We got in the jacuzzi and it was pretty good. We were talking and making fun of people. But about 15 minutes later, a trio of American teenagers got there to share the only jacz. I wasn’t in the mood to talk in english, neither was Luisa, so we said “hi” but kept doing our talk in portuguese. An hour later, the swiss group got there too with beer and vodka. We were having fun. And then the colombians also got there. And the italians and the peruvians and the spanish people. And I know it was freaking windy outside but we didn’t care. We were just there hanging out and making party. Just like a trip to Las Vegas should be. But the security thought we were too loud. So we were sent back to our rooms, which didn’t really work because we were already too excited. Everyone started running in the corridors, screaming, hugging, partying. And one of the guys even broke the alarm with his over excitement. The manager and the security came to us (we were all in our jammies by then) and said we’d be invited to leave the hotel if we didn’t stop. So we did, but only at 6 in the morning of sunday. Best day ever!
I find it amazing the way there are simple details that leave incredible marks in my life. One of these days I was going back home late after a whole day of working and this song came on the radio. My first reaction was to have no reaction, actually. I just stood there, lost in my Santa Barbara memories. It was something like a shock, y’know.
50 cent’s “Baby By Me” played a bunch of times when we were getting in Sharkeez late (around 9ish or 10ish pm). That usually meant we were getting there when the party had already started.
…All eyed on us, a great vibration and nights and nights of dancing with strangers and having fun.
Oh well… Memories… Yeah, they are one of the best things I have in life.
Funny how I still know exactly what songs we’d all be dancing until we’d die @ Sharkeez. “California Gurls”, “Last Friday Night” and “Teenage Dream” were already our anthems. “We R Who We R” is the new one.
Graduation day for the students who got in SB in September/2009. And we all got to have fun: barbecue + owen plant’s mini concert. I remember everyone joking and telling me how I ‘didn’t have’ a car in EF’s parking lot anymore because this guy left sooner to join the army and couldn’t show up at his graduation. Hahaha. Sharkeez, it was all your fault. Now find wally.
- Hey, Markus Jackson, did you record THAT word for me yet?
- No. I mean… I kinda did but it’s not good. I don’t know if I should send you.
- Oh, you’re sending it!!!
- Go on Skype then.
[goes on skype]
- I was in the car. It’s kind of shitty.
[listens]
- I love it! But… do you… do you realize how gay it is the fact that Ke$ha is playing on the background while you’re saying ‘awesome’?
- I know! The guys are gay. I have to listen to that while going back to Carpinteria with them.
- This will be my ringtone when I go back to Brazil, you know. Can we also have a version in video, please?
- I will think about that…
- ‘voce ta na lombard, aline. ta feliz depois de subir pra esse morro enorme?’
- ‘poooxa, claro que tou’
Never thought I’d find this at an aquarium. And I almost didn’t remember anymore that I’ve seen it during my trip to San Francisco back in April. I remember talking to this old American guy about how clever those little things are. It was sleeping when i got there and the moment it saw my camera, it came down and started posing for me. Awn!
